  • Our new research project is entitled “Optimal Sizing of Onsite Generation Resources for Self-Sustainable Offshore Loads”.

  • This project was first selected by Subsea Systems Institute (SSI) of Texas in 2022 and was later approved by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

  • We had the SSI Grant Program Kick-off meeting (with PIs of all selected projects) on February 15, 2023.

  • The project team consists of the PI Dr. Xingpeng Li, and Co-PI Dr. Kaushik Rajashekara from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at UH.

  • This 18-month project is to size renewable and storage resources to achieve zero carbon emission for offshore power systems that power offshore rigs.

  • Acknowledgment: This project was paid for with federal funding from the Department of the Treasury through the State of Texas under the Resources and Ecosystems Sustainability, Tourist Opportunities, and Revived Economies of the Gulf Coast States Act of 2012 (RESTORE Act).
