From summer 2023 to spring 2024, Jin Lu interned as a Transmission Planning Associate at Apex Clean Energy, a company pioneering new development of renewable energy technologies. During the internship, Jin gained valuable insights into the analysis and procedures for large-scale power plant interconnection. His responsibilities included conducting First Contingency Incremental Transfer Capability (FCITC) analysis, performing Available Transfer Capability (ATC) analysis in the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) region, and automating Definitive Interconnection System Impact Studies (DISIS). Jin also acquired a comprehensive understanding of renewable plant development in the real world, as well as the business and market dynamics of power industry in the United States.
